  • The Alabama Shakespeare Festival is currently accepting applications for part-time/flex-time positions in our Box Office.  In particular, we are looking for folks who are enthusiastic about theatre, comfortable with ticketing software and excellent with customer service.  The position pays minimum wage, but includes some theatre lover perks including tickets to shows!  Primary hours are weekdays 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., with some evenings 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and/or weekends 12p.m to 4 p.m. or 8 p.m.  (You would not be expected to work every night or every weekend.)  Excellent communication skills and computer skills are important, but most importantly you will serve as an ambassador of the art onstage at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.  If interested send a resume or fact sheet to: mdilaura@asf.net.  No Calls Please  EOE M/F/H/V

    WIG/MAKEUP ASSISTANT 

    Alabama Shakespeare Festival (Lort C&D). Montgomery, Alabama, seeks an experienced WIG/MAKEUP ASSISTANT for Disney’s The Little Mermaid.   

    The candidate must be self-motivated and detail oriented with a positive attitude, be creative, well organized, and able to maintain a clean workspace.  This position reports to the Wig Master.  Duties include but are not limited to: wig construction, styling, maintenance as well as excellent makeup skills.  Assistant will attend technical and dress rehearsals as well as run shows.  

    Competitive salary and housing is provided.  This full-time/seasonal position begins May 12, 2015 and ends August 9, 2015

    WIG MASTER/MAKEUP DESIGNER 

    Alabama Shakespeare Festival (Lort C&D). Montgomery, Alabama, WIG MASTER/MAKEUP DESIGNER for its Summer 2015 production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid.  

    Responsibilities include: 

    Purchase, alter or manufacture all wigs, hair styles and facial hair as designed by the Costume Designer.  Candidate must proficient in ventilating.  Facilitate or perform haircuts needed on specific productions.  Maintain the wig/hair stock.  Work with Costume Designer to create/coordinate any special makeup needs for productions.  Supervise a crew of hair assistants, supervise and train wig running crew for rehearsals and performances.  Order hair and makeup supplies as needed.  Create hair maintenance schedule.  Facilitate or perform specialty hair processes as needed.  Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Costume Production or Production Manager. 

    Previous experience as a Wig Master or Theatrical Hair Supervisor and cosmetology license are required.  Competitive salary and housing is provided.  Contract begins mid-May and ends mid-July 2015.
