    The Alabama Shakespeare Festival is currently accepting applications for part-time/flex-time positions in our Box Office.  In particular, we are looking for folks who are enthusiastic about theatre, comfortable with ticketing software and excellent with customer service.  The position pays minimum wage, but includes some theatre lover perks including tickets to shows!  Primary hours are weekdays 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., with some evenings 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and/or weekends 12p.m to 4 p.m. or 8 p.m.  (You would not be expected to work every night or every weekend.)  Excellent communication skills and computer skills are important, but most importantly you will serve as an ambassador of the art onstage at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.  If interested send a resume or fact sheet to: mdilaura@asf.net.  No Calls Please  EOE M/F/H/V

     

    Front of House Coordinator 

     The Alabama Shakespeare Festival (ASF) is currently accepting resumes for a Front of House Coordinator. The Coordinator under general supervision coordinates and provides oversight for front of house and customer service at ASF. Operations include: customer service, concession/bar sales, restaurant, usher services, rental events, community events, and other related activities. Your background should include a college degree and prior experience in providing high levels of customer service/satisfaction. Experience in the theatre/entertainment industry coupled with restaurant/bar management a big plus. This job requires evening and weekend shifts during a majority of performances.     Audio Intern 

    Audio Department Alabama Shakespeare Festival 2014-2015 Season. The Alabama Shakespeare Festival is looking for a Audio Intern for our 2014-2015 Season.

    The successful applicant must have background experience in crewing theatrical performances and be familiar with stage and technical theatre terminology. Preferred candidates are undergraduate or graduate students who have a background in sound engineering/design, recording, or technical production. QLab playback and live mix experience is a plus. The ability to apply and adapt previous experiences to a high-stakes and fast-paced setting is ideal. Must be computer literate and be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds. The position requires an individual able and willing to work independently at times with minimal supervision as well as taking direction and working with others in a team oriented environment. Good communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to multi-task and organize is necessary. Duties include, but are not limited to: sound operation for shows as assigned; set-up for and preshow equipment checks; reporting problems or errors to the sound supervisor; support crew for road or building events; set-up/strike of portable audio systems for company events; audio/video recording projects as assigned; being prompt and prepared for work each day; participate in load in and strike for seasonal productions and outside events; and any additional projects from or assisting other shops. Recent college graduates as well as prospective graduates looking for internship credits toward their degree are welcome to apply. The position begins January 3rd, 2015 thru mid May of 2015, with a possible extension through the summer. This position pays a nominal stipend of $300.00 per week and includes housing. The internships are a full time commitment. An outside job cannot be relied upon as an income supplement. Please note that benefits are NOT provided.
