A Life-Long Learning Center

  • Education Image
  • Students and teachers from throughout the South meet the Bard and many other playwrights by attending Schoolfest, week-day morning matinees with discounted student tickets for school groups. Research has shown that arts education encourages high achievement, builds creative problem solving and analytical skills, refines judgment, and stimulates "thinking outside the box." Students exposed to theatre are often more confident and creative and develop a life-long appreciation of language. Come! Enjoy! Learn!

    Schoolfest
Each year teachers and students from throughout the Southeast look forward to Schoolfest. These special morning weekday matinees provide a valuable resource in meeting course of study objectives through performance of literaryclassics. For more information and a complete schedule, please contact the Schoolfest Sales Manager at 334.271.5345.

    Camp Shakespeare
Don't waste your summer feeling your brain cells die. ASF offers Camp Shakespeare for students ages 10 - 12 and the Teen Summer Shakespeare Intensive for ages 13 - 18. These one-week Camps in July culminate in a spectacular student performance on an ASF stage. As one parent wrote, "It's a wonderful thing to see your child get really excited about Shakespeare and the theatre. . . He said it was better than Disney World, and that says it all." Early registration is advised.

    ASF Academy
Learn more about the craft of acting at ASF Acting Academy - for ages seven through adult. Classes are held on Mondays beginning in October. Hurry, classes sell out quickly!

    Teacher Seminars
Curriculum-based Teacher Seminars, funded by the Alabama Humanities Foundation and approved for CEU credits through the University of Alabama, offer teachers ideas to help stimulate that “ah-ha” moment in their students’ learning.
