Dr. Carly Johnson (Trumpet) is Professor of Upper Brasswinds at Alabama State University where she teaches courses in applied trumpet, applied horn and brass methods, in addition to serving as Director of the ASU Brass and Trumpet Ensembles. Dr. Johnson earned the Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University, the Master of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from the University of Florida, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Trumpet Performance from Ohio State University. A versatile and active musician, Dr. Johnson has performed with the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, Alabama Brassworks Quintet Baltic States Tour and numerous productions at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival since arriving in Alabama in 2006. |
