Anthony Cochrane is an actor and composer who originally hails from the north coast of Scotland and now resides in New York. As an actor, Cochrane’s credits include the TONY award winning production of Tom Stoppard’s The Coast of Utopia and Cymbeline at Lincoln Center Theater; The Broken Heart, The Wives’ Excuse, Coriolanus and Julius Caesar for the Royal Shakespeare Company; Dense Terrain with Doug Varone and Dancers at Brooklyn Academy of Music; Médéé at Carnegie Hall.  Off-Broadway credits include Othello, Cyrano de Bergerac, Much Ado About Nothing, Julius Caesar, King Lear, Twelfth Night, The Iliad, The Man Who Would Be King and The Invisible Man with Aquila Theatre Company.  Regional work includes The Winter’s Tale, Julius Caesar (Folger Shakespeare Theatre) Much Ado About Nothing (La Jolla Playhouse / The White House), Romeo and Juliet (European tour and 2007 Edinburgh Festival); The Merchant of Venice, Measure for Measure, Hiawatha (Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh); Hamlet, Jungle Book (Lyric Theatre, Belfast).  Film: Wall St. 2, Apocalypse Watch.  Television: Benjamin Franklin (PBS), Taggart (Scottish Television), Neverwhere (BBC), The Bill (Thames TV).
Cochrane also served as an Associate Director & Composer/Musical Director of the Aquila Theatre Company for 12 years.  In this capacity he has written musical scores and collaborated on the creation of more than 20 productions.  He has also written music for 3 short films directed by Alex Webb, Pizza, the award winning The Girl From 2C and Hove (The Wind).
