Yaegel Welch (Radio Announcer, Friend, Floor Manager, Grandpa, Student Protester) was most recently seen in the Lincoln Center for The Arts production of Fly. Off Broadway he has been seen in The Revenger’s Tragedy at the Red Bull Theatre and The Darker Face of the Earth with TWAS (director Trazana Beverly). In regional theatre he has appeared in The Piano Lesson at The Arden Theatre (Barrymore Award nomination), My Children! My Africa! at the Wilma and Studio theatres, Fences at the Arkansas Rep, A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the Bridgeport Free Shakespeare Festival, a staged reading of Fences (with Ruben Santiago-Hudson) at the Shubert Theatre in Boston, Cobb at the Chautauqua Institution (director Ethan McSweeny), and Professional Skepticism at the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre. Yaegel's professional training includes a B. A. in Theatre Arts from Morehouse College, an M.F.A. in Acting from Brandeis University, and an M.F.A. in Classical Acting from the Shakespeare Theatre Company's Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University. He feels very blessed to be performing in this first production at ASF.
