Live Auction (January 23, 2010 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
To place a bid on an item during the live auction, find the item you wish to bid on in the Montgomery Advertiser's special auction insert on January 17 and January 23 or at www.asfarmchairauction.com. Make a note of the item number, the minimum bid, the bidding, increment, and the key words (in bold type).
You can save time by pre-registering. Call David Roberson at 334-271-5325 to pre-register for the auction. You must provide a credit card number to pre-register. Pre-registration ends January 22, 2010 at noon.
During the time slot when the item is available, call 1-877-273-0467 with the item number you wish to bid on, the key words, and your bid amount. Also be prepared to give a telephone number where you can be reached if you are the apparent high bidder. (See "Winning the Item" below.) Please note that some items are only available for bidding for 15 minutes and some items are available for bidding for one hour. All bidding ends at the sound of the final bell, except bids already in progress.
An ASF Armchair Auction staff member will call you by 9 p.m. on January 23, 2010 if you are the winning bidder.
Winning the Item
After the bidding has closed on an item, an ASF Armchair Auction staffer will call the apparent high bidder by 9 p.m. on January 23, 2010 to notify him or her that they are high bidder. A credit card number for payment must be provided at this time. If the highest bidder is unreachable by telephone, the next highest bidder will be called, and so on down the bid list until a bidder is reached.
Payment by the winning bidder must be made in full on the night of the auction. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards are accepted. No cash, no checks. Credit cards will be charged as soon as the winning bidder is contacted. ASF is unable to group winnings into one payment.
